Contemplation
This video was created from footage of everyday life captured during fieldwork in three villages in the Philippines involved in community-based disaster response efforts. It is an artistic-contemplative practice of tuning into daily practices of rest, care and healing amidst disasters.
Pahingalay
Pahingalay is the Filipino word coined to name the practice of resting (pahinga), breathing (hinga) and prayerful offering (alay).
The following meditations were written in a collaboration among Chaya Ocampo Go, Orlando de Guzman, Joey Ayala, and Terence Krishna Lopez in 2014 to explore how a meditation practice may be shared in Filipino.
